The Sales Brief, by Ilan Khalifa
I have worked on customer acquisition since 2009. Twice a month, I share one idea, method or tool to turn more opportunities into customers.
I have worked on customer acquisition since 2009. Lea CRM was born from one observation: companies do not only need more leads. They need to make better use of the ones they already have.
Since 2009, I have supported small businesses and large groups on their customer acquisition challenges.
At first, mostly on marketing: generating visibility, attracting leads, running acquisition campaigns and finding the right levers to grow a business.
Then, quite naturally, I found myself working closer and closer with sales teams.
And that is where I started noticing something that comes back again and again.
Companies invest heavily to generate leads. They buy lists, advertise, run campaigns, hire salespeople, and produce dozens or sometimes hundreds of new opportunities.
Then part of those opportunities gets lost.
- A salesperson forgets to call a lead back.
- A follow-up never happens.
- An important piece of information stays buried in an email.
- A meeting is not properly prepared.
- An interested lead simply disappears because nobody knew they had to be followed up.
So the problem is not always to generate more leads. Sometimes it is simply to make better use of the ones already in hand.
Marketing + Sales
That view, at the crossroads of marketing and sales, is my main playing field today.
I like to understand the whole chain: attract, qualify, contact, follow up, convince, close.
Because an acquisition strategy that generates plenty of leads the sales team cannot properly work is, in the end, not a good acquisition strategy.
My obsession is therefore fairly simple:
How do you allow a company to turn more of its opportunities into customers?
Then AI arrived
Artificial intelligence deeply changed the way I work.
Not because it can generate even more content, or because you can now ask an AI to write an email in three seconds.
What really interests me lies elsewhere. What can genuinely be automated? What can be handed over to a machine? How do you let a salesperson spend less time looking for information, writing up a call, updating a CRM or preparing a follow-up, and more time talking to leads and customers?
I test a great deal around AI, with a clear preference for concrete, measurable applications.
And then I built Lea CRM
Lea CRM was not born from a wish to create "yet another CRM".
It was born from a need I met again and again with my clients.
CRMs have become extremely powerful tools. But they are also often complex, time-consuming, and sometimes so far removed from a salesperson's daily reality that they end up badly filled in, or simply ignored.
Yet a CRM should serve the salesperson. Not the other way around.
So I started building Lea CRM with this idea: use AI and automation so that the CRM does more of the work on behalf of sales teams.
The goal is not to create more admin. The goal is to let teams manage their leads better, save time and, above all, close more customers.
Why The Sales Brief?
After all these years working on acquisition and sales, I have accumulated a great many methods, experiences, tools, mistakes and convictions.
The Sales Brief is where I am going to share them.
Twice a month, I pick one idea, method, tool, experience or trend that can concretely help a sales team or a business owner.
We will talk about prospecting. About lead generation. About follow-ups. About CRM. About artificial intelligence. About productivity. About sales management.
And above all about what has interested me since 2009: how to turn more opportunities into customers.
The Sales Brief is not meant to be a newsletter about Lea CRM. Lea CRM is simply the product of that experience.
And if the ideas I share can help you sell better, then the bet has paid off.
Welcome to The Sales Brief.
